A5000 Desk Duck

Are you wondering what that repetitive robotic quacking sound is? No? Well, it's Desk Duck - it's something that I found on my Archimedes computer, having rescued the contents of the hard drive. What happens to ducks if they fly upside-down? They 'quack up'. Ha ha.. ha.. ha.. I think it's time my head went off to the workshop for a maintenance check.

Is the program you're running from a startup disk?

Possibly it was installed from a disk, though I am running this from the hard drive. The original owner of the computer installed lots of games and applications and didn't provide me with the original disks when they sold the computer.

We had this at school, everyone was renaming it to !DeskThing and changing the sprites to rats, tanks etc. You can feed bread to DeskDuck, and this inevitably became dynamite...

Thanks for your comment. More bird sound apps, I must find. I've since moved the A5000 as I decided that the washing machine was not the best place for it. Having missed the whole Archimedes thing when they first came out, this is my first encounter with such things.
