It just really bugs me to hear people call Elvis "overrated". Show me someone who calls Elvis overrated and I will show you a gibbering idiot with no self awareness.

I really don't listen to him much but he unarguably had a great voice, was a good performer, and was a huge success. He was one of the first stars to try acting as well. To call him overrated is to not understand the term overrated.

Oh Christ, get real. Music historians (and anyone living in reality) credit the first Rock songs to Black people and everyone knows that lol... They came from Blues (which isn't something Elvis created). Elvis stole everything he did from Black artists and everyone knows that. You being a super fan for him doesn't change that fact. elvis was overrated... having a "great voice" and being a "great performer" and having a lot of success aren't factors that eliminate or discredit the fact that he was overrated. he stole his entire sound and his moves from people who didn't get credit and still haven't to this day (you know exactly who), he didn't do anything innovative at all and he was overrated. doesn't mean you have to hate him to recognize that.
