  • 2003?? i thought this was 80s!

  • @Ty0g In a good way, I hope.

  • His form is so perfect, he's only sloppy when he wants to be, when he gets careless and "lazy" with his concentration.

Damn, wish I could my katas with that kind of ease.

  • Maybe the "sloppiness" is a form of looseness like in Drunken Style. We've seen some old masters really whip out a technique while looking formless.

  • I wasn't accusing him of lack of perfection, I was accusing him of looking sloppy on purpose so as to not intimidate his students. If an instructor's form is too perfect, students lose hope, they become frustrated at their slow progress and think they will never get there. Thing is with Shi Yang Ming, even when he is deliberately trying to look sloppy even then his movements are flawless. Has he practiced so much its IMPOSSIBLE for him to look sloppy anymore? Even if he tried?

  • Don't worry, we did take the word, "sloppy", the wrong way. We just wanted to stimulate a conversation so other viewers don't take the term the wrong way. Martial artists can be very sensitive people, you know.

  • Omg he is my shifu's shifu !!!!!!! So he's like my grandshifu

  • Very good, but the pne inch punch doesnt work when his arm is caught in an armbar or kimura

  • @nanhuazhenren lol thats funny because thats what i thought too

  • Notice how he puts his hand up when he shakes. Looks like he is blocking energy, this may be to reduce power struggles? I don't really know, I have studied very little Buddhism since it teaches that we already have the knowledge within us, understanding one's self, to be selfless, to simply be.

  • @MartialArchiveTv You are right. Particularly what he is doing in "sloppy" form its called Tai-Chi-Chen (fighting style of Tai-Chi style). Besides, Shaolin monks learn other weaponless forms, like Wu-Shu, etc.

  • this guy is so cool... a killer with a good heart.

  • @eaglekvb indeed, that has been a reason why i have not trained, if this is still open i am moving to new york.

  • i love the fact that there is a monk that speaks with hiphop slang... yan ming and rza gave eachother alot...
