Hitler was a lifelong catholic, the Nazi Platform specifically stated that it was based on Christianity. Christopher Hitchens slapped down the Mao/Stalin/Pol Pot were atheists and thus atheism is "responsible" argument in under 3 minutes. 3. There is no atheist i know of who commited genocide because of his atheism.

4. There is plenty of theists recorded through the history who commited genocides specifically because of their theism.

@lilpeaceacrap That's certainly debatable. I mean, the church excommunicated Gerbils for marrying a Protestant. And Hitler considered himself Catholic, "I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so."

As for the rest of it, I find it a little difficult to imagine someone killing in the name of non-God. And yet on the other hand, it's very easy to imagine someone, feeling justified in their conviction, killing in the name of their God.
