In the periodic table of woodworking finishes, shellac comes right out of the Jurassic; that fact, however, means there is very little professional woodworkers don't know about it. On the other hand, the average person may not be aware of its little- known qualities when it comes to moisture resistance, and so this demonstration of that trait.

Dewaxed shellac mixed from flake form was used alongside a control specimen of catalyzed lacquer, which has a reputation of being near bulletproof. Ice was used for this experiment because even modern finishes may show blushing or watermarking from such exposure.

The timed sequences of meltdown have been augmented with a speculative vision of the future, but you may want to go fix a drink instead.

  • Where do I start? Uh...what kind of Euro trash movie was that? When I hear the words Mild Cholester I think the same things I thought when I saw this video. Uh, I can view any other of your videos after that display of uncomfortable silence followed by crazy fecal film.

  • @BlueMacGyver -

Euro Trash; You've got me in good company with the likes of Jess Fano and Brian Yuzna! Although I don't make as much money as they do- in fact I don't make any from my humble offerings, I do have fun, and when it stops being fun it's called work, and that's when I do stop. Thanks for the-, I think?, positive review.

  • Great film. I actually love to collect snippets of bizzare domestic but mainly foreign films. Kubrick would smile for sure.

  • Holy Cow!

I feel like I'm on drugs, but I haven't taken any. I also feel like someone just touched me.

However I do love Shellac for just about everything!

  • Totally bizarre yet somehow awesome...

  • I need a drink alright...
