Some of the leading organizations involved in sustainability in the beauty industry congregated in New York for the the North American edition of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit on 24-26th March 2010. With the natural personal care industry dogged by high profile lawsuits and greenwashing claims, industry leaders called for companies to provide greater authenticity at the summit.
Apart from ethical marketing, the summit covered major industry issues such as role of eco-labels, ethical partnerships, sustainable packaging innovations, the potential of social media marketing, sustainable brand development, green chemistry, novel ingredients, formulation & technical challenges, and investment issues.
