I remember this well. I just started six grade and middle school a few days before, and it stormed like crazy that day. We had several Tropical Storms and Hurricane leftovers pass though our area in 2004/2005. I don't live in Rockingham county though so I did not see the actual coverage but I watched WXII.

@ezndatre The EAS came from the cable company and not the TV station. The cable company was breaking into to the channel.

its almost worthless of the EAS to tell people if no shelter is available, then to lie flat in a ditch. They should just say put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye, cuz if the tornado comes then that is whats going to happen.
