  • "GUILTY MOMS"

Should mothers stay at home with their young children, or should they pursue a career? Don’t miss an intense debate from both sides of this issue!

  • The stay-at-home mom (Jessica) seemed so bitter. I wonder if it was her choice of lifestyle that made her so bitter and unhappy that she could lash out at career moms.

  • I am not a parent yet, however once I do have children i will continue to work. It is not the 1950's, 2 income households are more prevalent because of the economy. I would never be able to give and child a nice lifestyle and safe and happy home if I weren't working because it just is not affordable to be a stay at home Mom in my city/province/country.

  • @megasoso1987 Women were liberated and that's very important, but men were not. If more men were allowed to have paternity leave for instance, a lot of the burden would be taken off women. (And I say this as a woman. ;) )

  • @poppylv21 At the same time, we should also be teaching kids to have balance between work and home life. A lot of men in fact would love to be able to be home for their young kids more but paternity leave is nearly nonexistent.

  • Well isn't the dad a key element?

  • My mom used to be a stay at home mom, and it was really nice. I'd have her to come home to, dinners were always made, and I just had a lot of time to spend with her. Unfortunately, working class families don't always have this luxury and my mom had to go back to work (when I was old enough) to help with the bills. I think she enjoyed being out of the house and making some money, but I know she missed being at home with me as well.

  • Personally I do not think kids are not better off with a stay at home mom vs a working mom. But I'm not breeding so this doesn't apply to me

  • @SoshiLoveable *like

  • those stay at home moms probably spend their husband's money and not earn their own money live the career moms do, lets see what happens when their husband loses his job and they have to work and I think career moms also do their duty as a mother. those stay-at-home moms probably can't get a job that has good pay and thats why they criticize career moms

  • My mom lost her parents when she was 18; she's worked ever since. As soon as she was able to go back to work after giving birth to my older brother, younger sister, and myself - she went so that ends would always meet. And yet I can't recall a single time in my life that she HASN'T been there for me physically OR emotionally. My mom has been a working mom since the day I was born and I've NEVER had to go without necessities OR nurture. I think a woman who can handle both is incredible.

  • I don't have a kid yet but I really believe I will stay at home, until the child can attend to kindergarden (or he/she is around 3 years old). Then It will be hard, but not extremely hard to get hired again due to the break. and two incomes are very important.

  • I love how those stay at home moms are all judgmental. Now, I live in Switzerland and I simply can't afford to stay at home! My partner does not earn enough money and I have to work. But nonetheless, I would work even if I hadn't to, because it's good live hygiene to do something else apart from watching the kids. And childcare is very good here, the people are professionnals and it is very good for the kids to socialise. So to anyone who says I'm wrong, I say: Mind your own business!!!!!!
