All credit (and thanks) for the sim/game goes to Grant Kot http://www.youtube.com/kotsoft

This is a 1,800 / 800 particle 1600x900 resolution simulation recorded using FRAPS on an E8400@3.6GHz(400MHzx9) / X-38 / 4GB-PC6400@400MHz / 512MB-8800GT@Stock / VistaX64.

It uses one CPU core only. This is a newer version. Also i modified some properties of the particles to make them behave differently just to experiment with.

There is no download for this. But you can play a similar web-based java version online here: http://kotsoft.googlepages.com/solid.html (right click to freeze/unfreeze)

Thanks again to Grant Kot for providing me the opportunity to mess around with all this stuff. I will be uploading more demos soon.

  • LoL I WANT TO MAKE A PHYSICS SANDBOX TOO!!! CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME HOW?

  • Before programming anything, it's important to understand mathematics.

And a programming language such as java or C.

Google "smoothed particle hydrodynamics". There should be a ton of examples out there.

  • how did u get it with just a blank level with out the spinning wheel thing?

  • This isn't his sandbox program, this is a standalone app when he was messing with the viscoelastic stuff.

I have the source code to this, that's how i modified the properties.

  • Yeah you're right it's just sprites drawn over points. And it will be used in a game. Really there are two games at the moment. There's "Polluted Planet" of which i'll be uploading a video soon (can be found on kotsoft site already), and a sandbox type game.
