GOA CULTURAL DAY AND THARAKA MISSION.
GOA is an indigenous Christian ministry based in Kenya and in other countries in East and central Africa. The 135 GOA congregations are to be found among peoples of diverse cultures and languages. They all came together to celebrate these unique cultures on 25/07/2009 at the GOA Nairobi church.
Culture as a way of life was distinctly presented by different people groups.
This was in the form of foods, clothings, artifacts, paintings, artistry, music, drama and dancing among other expressions.
Jeff and Rebecca, a couple from America who had helped facilitate these events were some of the guests who interacted and learned from these cultural activities. A Day to celebrate the GOA peoples way of life is set to be engraved and celebrated each year in the coming future.
Elsewhere, 171 people responded to the gospel as another 22 got baptized during the outreach mission to the Tharaka people. Over 300 others were fed in this dry, dusty and harsh region of Kenya. This mission, facilitated by Jeff and Rebecca helped bring the gospel to over 5000 people through films, sports Evangelism, Door to Door witnessing and open air meetings. Revival is still going as a result of this great mission.
