I mean, it is a waste. I know. I feel a bit bad about that.
And this certainly wasn't meant to be some kind of statement. You know, like the KLF burning a million quid and that...
I doubt though I could've done more though to fix my Korg nanoKEY. After a month of the bottom C falling off (I need that one to play Jump by Van Halen by the way), repairing it, it falling off, repairing it ... etc etc etc. And the realization that all of the keys were essentially held on by paper clips and it was bound to happen to other keys before too long...
Hmmmm, it tipped me over the edge, you know, in a fairly controlled way. I tried one last time to get some new parts from Korg and couldn't so I took the next logical step and decided to light it on fire. Again, I feel bad for the waste. The burning plastic can't have been good for either the environment or my neighbours washing thinking about it...
But I set up my little flip camera, plugged the nanoKEY into my laptop with Elektrik Piano running and lit it on fire. I was hoping for some nice ambient stuff as it crackled away, but nothing. This however is the GENUINE last chord it made, as I tipped a bucket of water over it.
Seems it must've had a bit of a jazzy soul.
That'll learn it ...
They are pieces of junk and should never have been sold. Or burned.
