@GameMaster2565 Perhaps, but the odds trade-off still favors aviation. I'll fly anytime, anyday without reservation. An even better way to beat the odds? Fly Flight Simulator. When I'm not sitting on a 737 in back, I'm in the nose of one on the PC!

I agree with rotondi123. People can say to you that flying is extremely safe and give you all the statistics about how safe it is they want.. but if you look at the bigger picture, airlines do JUST the minimum amount of maintenance on the aircraft. In my opinion, with the amount of flying time put on all of those jets each day, one of them is bound to have problems and likely crash. They're ticking timebombs really.

@arshdeep125 I wish I were flying a 206, or even a 182, but I am flying a 1965 C172F. Great little plane, pretty old but she certainly has character!

@Sting3733 I planned on it. Very rarely do I get scared when I'm flying my cessna, occasionally there will be a rather strong thermal and the drop at the other side will startle me, but never really anything that scares me so far.

The bottom line is people aren't in "control" which scares the shit out of them. The funny thing about that is most of the time we are not in control of anything....
