the Reconstruction Rap (AP US History Original Rap Song)

In AP US History, we got the opportunity to write, record, and make a video for a rap song. I had to make mine about the Reconstruction Era in the United States following the Civil War when the slaves were declared free. The video's not my best, but it should get me the grade, ha ha ha.

So all the slaves are moving up
to escape the dreaded South
They aint puttin up with whites
They gonna to leave without a doubt
Freedmans Bureau helpin out
So the homies can adjust
I'm talkin brand new schools
now, thats some charitable trust!

Verse 3:
Now, when it comes to free slaves
Ya know that Congress got their back
Thats why in 1866,
They passed a Civil Rights Act
Now all the brothas of this nation
Could buy themselves some land
They could also enter contracts,
Now isnt that grand?

Amendment fourteen followed soon after that
They all citizens now, we rollin out the welcome mat
And before the Southern states
were forgave for treachery
They had to ratify this change
Of course the first was Tennessee!

Closing
After one more amendment that allowed the blacks to vote,
It seemed the blacks and the whites were finally on the same boat
Although problems were around,
And some brothas were oppressed
Life was still a lot better
All my homies, they'd been blessed
