marriage is not a right its a privilege. the government is run by the people through votes and election, not gay judges with personal agendas.

Unfortunately, there is NOT a separation between church and state. Notice the phrase "In God We Trust" has asserted itself on coins, bills, on Congressional walls and on the witness stand. This came about beginning with the Civil War but was then codified in 1956.
Many came and still come to America to escape persecution. Despite this common fact for so many, we have a difficult time coming to peace with the personal choices of others in our colorful and varied country.

Also, no sect of christianity follows every single thing the bible teaches they all pick and choose. So how can you say this is right but another statement is false.

You can't just go around forcing your life on everyone else, it leads to really bad places. Thats what the crusades, the inquisition, and to a lesser extent prop 8 were all about.

If god does exist, its not your place to judge, its his.
If god does not exist, it is not your place to judge based on false pretenses.

I studied the bible for two years, and my conclusion was actually that Jesus used the god of the old testament, Yahweh, as a symbol of love. However if that isn't true, Jesus said god is love, how can you argue that love in its purest form can hate anything? If that doesn't work for you than why not leave the judging to your god, you have obviously placed you entire faith in him, and from what I understand from your religion "god has a plan" why are you interfering.

God is Love and in Gods word he said men should not have sex with other men, plus God is able to hate that is the misconception that people have is that God never gets mad or God cannot Hate but guess what he does hate people are just too lazy to read the bible they just think they can do anything they want without having any concern with the consiquences.

Theres no reason to be so hateful, Christ taught love, tolerance, and understanding. If god is love, why hate?
The true definition of matrimony is the sacred union between man & woman. No one is taking their right of joining in a relationship between man & man or vice versa, but marriage was not constituted on those terms. People should be content that they are able to have a relationship her in the US; it seems like more people are never satisfied and expect things to be shaped to their beliefs and ideas. You have the right to come up with something else that will make you official!

At its best, marriage is a spiritual adventure between willing beings. More commonly, it is a bargain made in which women are obliged to follow the determination of their parent, who may or may not have a spiritual intention in creating the union. This is the truth of marriage.
From the old testament: Hebrews chapter 13 (NLT) 4 Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.

if you want equal rights maybe you should read the law of the state of California, then you wouldn't have to continue to bankrupt California because they have to spend millions policing you!
"California affords domestic partnerships all of the same rights and responsibilities as marriages under state law (Cal. Fam. Code §297.5)"

I think creating a Constitutional Amendment is costly, on many levels. First off, the inclusion of 14 new words to define marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman is in contradiction to the family code you cited. Ergo, gauranteed new lawsuits and more expenses. Do you have any other concerns besides fiscal ones? Let's try to address them one at a time.
