@sanjok1992 Flashing ditchlights aren't used by every railroad. Only some mandate it. Norfolk Southern, CSX and Amtrak are the three major carriers that do. They automatically turn on when the horn is blown.

@sanjok1992 Its for saftey purposes. I guess it makes it more noticable that a train is coming lol.
