The owl's name was Charlie and was played by Bob Holt (who sadly left us in 1985 at age 56). According to second hand information, this was supposed to be the last scene taping for the last episode, but Joni Robbins, the woman inside the Freddie the Frog costume, wanted to make it more memorable. Thankfully Bob Holt knew how to ad-lib, and the rest is history. This made it Sergio Olivelli's "Bloopers" midnight show films.
Holy Shit!
