I can testify to how great these pickups sound. I have a Seymour Duncan staple neck pickup in a hollow Gretsch and it's one of the best pickups i've ever heard. I hear people saying they sound like a souped up Strat neck pickup sometimes...not sure about that, i'm not a strat fan and don't think they sound like any strat sound i've heard. I do think they have something of a classic dearmmond dynasonic tone but thicker. They seem to be have a nice wide frequency, more top and bottom than a p-90.

@geraarge thank you so much. That guitar of yours just looks and sounds absolutely magnificent

Like 'em both but give the nod to the Super 400.
?;^D

Please take the delay off. You can't get the actual tone with it sounding like that. The d-time is too close together

I just wanna see the Headstock...and the Tuning Gears....Man..!!!

I love the sound of that Epi, though it reminds me of a Gretsch w/ dynasonic pickups. Is it because the staple pickups have magnetic pieces that are adjustable like dynasonics?
Staple are one of the most great single coil pickups ever made. Theese are used on the top of the line of vintage Gibson Archtop guitars; it is impossible to match with a strat single coil pickups. I think that staple are near to de armond sound but very different in twang and color. I have customized this guitar to obtain the same scotty sound with a lower budget than a Gibson L5. Please look my other video with Max Panconi.
Thanks for your interest !

Lovely guitar sir, just one question. That pickguard, where did you get it?
It looks soo much better than the standard one from Epiphone.
Great playin!

Pickguard is an original '70's Gibson L5 part. Tailpiece in this video is a part of Gibson ES5; after I have found an original '50's L5 tailpiece and I have replaced it (see my Youtube video with Max Panconi). My project is to customize an Epiphone Elitist Broadway with the same specs and sound of an original '50's Gibson L5 ( see Scotty Moore) but at a lower budget.

How did you go about installing the P90 size Staple in a Humbucker size rout? I am thinking of doing something similar to this on my Gibson Super 400, but I was thinking of going with the Phat Staple because it fits in humbucker routing. If I could I would prefer the normal dogear staples though. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Phat Staple pickups are the best choice for your Gibson Super 400 instead of P90 staple that need some luthier works.
Enjoy it !!!
