Zeke Clark, Edward Van Halen's longtime reknowned guitar tech recently got one of these and this is what he had to say:

"I've played tons of pedals that promised that 'brown sound'... this pedal NAILS it better than anything I've ever heard or played."

-Zeke Clark, former tech for Eddie Van Halen

Sometimes you need extreme gain, sometimes you need mild overdrive...this pedal does that with an awesome "brown sound"! It has an extremely tweakable eq - from scooped mids to tons of warm mids, all with the turn of 2 knobs.

This pedal has 4 knobs -- two separate tone controls that act as a sort of parametric EQ, gain and volume. It also has a 'bright' switch that adds a ton of variety and is very handy when playing a dark sounding amp, as well as another toggle switch that will give you high gain Brown Sound tones.

The original Pinnacle(2) evolved into the pinnacle over the span of a couple of years. During that time, we've had a ton of customers ask us about coming back out with the original version which had a stomp-switchable gain boost. While the current pinnacle and the original pinnacle 2 were 95% the same circuit-wise, some felt that there was a certain 'magic' to it. Since we've had so many requests for it, we decided to come out with a limited version of it complete with the gain boost stomp switch. We are only building a small number of these so unfortunately when it's gone - it's gone. At this time, it is only available on this website.

Pinnacle v. Pinnacle 'deluxe'
The Pinnacle and Pinnacle Deluxe share the same great tone. The difference comes in the form of a couple special features found on the Deluxe version that make it more involved for us to make, but which add some extra versatility for you. While the standard Pinnacle has a toggle switch to control its Gain Boost, the Pinnacle Deluxe has that same functionality on a foot switch, so you can kick it in without having to bend down in the middle of a song. If you plan on using the Pinnacle for rhythm and lead, you might want to consider getting the Deluxe to keep your hands on the guitar and not on your pedals mid-song. The only other difference is that the Pinnacle Deluxe has an additional, internal volume adjustment (just in case you need to go to "11" on the output volume). Because of the added switch, the Pinnacle Deluxe is a little bit larger than the standard Pinnacle, something to keep in mind if you're running a packed pedal board.

Which Pinnacle is right for you isn't a question of tone, because they both nail that coveted "brown sound!" It just comes down to whether you need the special features found on the Pinnacle Deluxe, or prefer the smaller footprint of the standard Pinnacle.

  • this padel sounds really heavy... im kinda new to padels and stuff... what are the disadvantage of this padel and hw much does it cost?

  • @ddenniszzz $229.97 with free shipping in stock at nstuffmusic. The pedal is pretty versatile it can do everythin from classic rock to metal and it is true bypass and made really well in the USA. There are no disadvantages unless you do not want distortion.

  • The pedal sound Great!!! I have a Les Paul and a Strat, how dose it sound with single coil pickups?

  • @BrandonCarterTV This pedal sound good through humbuckers and single coil's.

  • Can I use this as a solo boost thru an already overdriven amp or would it clip the signal too hard for that?(A more for the clean channel kind of pedal?)

  • @MetalzShredah550 It's more of a clean channel distortion. If you looking for a solo boost style you may want to check out the Wampler Paisley Drive or the Xotica AC booster or a Fulltone OCD.
