The Central Michigan University Marching Chippewas playing Michael Jackson's "Thriller." The camera moves a lot, I was getting jolted around in the student section. This is from the 2008 CMU/Western Michigan University game

  • Ok, number 1, check YouTube...everybody's done thriller. U of M, Arkansas, MSU, Penn State... list goes on. Western was not the first, nor the best, nor the last to do it. Get over yourself. Number two, if it's that important, put a damn video of WMU doing thriller on Youtube. Step up and instead of just whining, let's see them side-by-side.

    Number three: go Cubs :-)

  • This was one of The Marching Chips best performances ever!

  • @jbsmith1966 Our student section shows are stand still. Check out the Chippewa Marching Band clips.

fyi: This isn't a high school band.

  • d5, ill bet the crowd has never stood and cheered like that once for your band. ever. E.V.E.R.

  • hey not too shabby for a High School band...trumpets just need to be carefull to listen to their intonation very close and would like to see some actual marching, but other than that not bad for a stand still band.

  • As far as the CMB - BMB debate that was going on. I have a lot of things I'd like to say, but this is what I will.

Watching 1 video of either band will not accurately depict how much the fans like or dislike that band. Fans react to different things on the field & different days also influence the fans' reaction.

It's highly unnecessary to get into a war of words trying to double-talk your opponent into submission. Please realize that it's the football teams that are opponents, not the bands.

  • Click on "Central Michigan mens Basketball 07-08" on youtube, nice highlight video!! who can top it???

  • Okay, so you can agree that the Bronco Band does a tremendous job of playing with dynamics. Thank you. You also noticed that "when we do play that loud" the intonation wavered. Wavered? You're describing a small blip in intonation. If that's not what you wanted to describe, pick a new word. But you do agree that we can play loud enough to send chills down the spine, thank you for that.

You're describing such tiny problems and trying to blow them out of proportion. Good effort though...

  • Am I to assume then you're a CMU season ticket holder to see all our games? So I was in the stands this past weekend for the CMU/WMU matchup, and really, you guys aren't nearly as big as you talk up. You aren't that loud, and when you were your intonation wavered, and no one in the stands was really freaking out in excitement. Maybe you had a bad day, CMU had just hung 14 on you in the last 2 minutes of the half, but from what I saw at that game, the BMB is nothing to write home about either.
