Should never have been removed in the first place. Now they're wasting money on all these stupid busways that wouldn't have been necessary had they kept trams in operation. Idiots.

Anna Bligh has already stated repeatedly how much she hates trams and that there won't be any in Brisbane while she's premier. Personally having lived in inner Melbourne for ten years I can't see how a city of any reasonable density is supposed to operate WITHOUT them - they provide a frequency and reliability that just can't be matched by buses.

I was born in 1978. I Love Brisbane. But the the history of these trams are amazing.
The Paddington Warehouse where is used to stand has a Plaque
Old Cleveland Road, Carina still has the tracks.
The Tram Museum on the northside is Brilliant.
If not bring back the trams at least a light rail between West End and New Farm is a must!
