POET BILLY LAMONT RECITING "A STRING OF PEARLS" AT CBGB'S 313 GALLERY 11/18/98

The Other Perspective Video Clip #28: Poet Billy Lamont reciting one of his most popular poems "a string of pearls" at a CD release party for "Into The 21st Century" at CBGB's 313 Underground Lounge on November 18, 1998. This poem appears on the "Into the 21st Century" CD which was Lamont's first above ground, international CD release and is a benefit for Teen Challenge. This poem is included in Lamont's spoken word rock opera "the gallery of light" performed that night and from 1997-2000, Lamont has said, "it is like his American prayer as we entered the 21st century." Lamont has said that this 45 minute performance poem with music is his work that he is "most proud of and influential to other artists, major and underground, so far." Lamont told us that he would like to upload the entire seven lights of "the gallery of light" soon.
