Bootleg Review:

Yes, EVSD has done it again! EVSD's release of the long awaited Southampton 1/22/73 MULTI-TRACK recording is quite spectacular. Definately one of my favorite EVSD releases ever. Sound quality is simply stunning. Although comparing it to Presence's raw master, which surfaced online on August 10, 2007, there is no difference whatsoever in sound quality. But Presence's release had many digital clicks, crackles, and pops. EVSD's release doesn't seem to have as many. Also, on EVSD's release, they did screw up the tracklisting on the second disc partially. On the artwork, it shows a separate track for the Keyboard Solo, but on the disc, the Keyboard Solo is blended with Thank You, and the Organ Solo is actually Heartbreaker. Kind of odd, but let me assure you, THERE IS NOTHING MISSING. THIS RELEASE IS COMPLETE. Also, one more thing, I don't think I would call it an Organ Solo, because JPJ ditched the organ solo by 1971 because it sounded too "churchish" for him. He actually did a Mellotron Solo, so I would probrably call it a "Mellotron Solo". But the song titles don't bother me, so no biggie. I wish EVSD would have used some of the EQ tricks they have down their sleeve on this release, as it would've enhanced the sound quality even more. But with or without, it still sounds AMAZING! I love the artwork they gave it, a very nice job has been done. Maybe they could've put a little bit more effort into it, but I'm not complaining, because they made it up with the sound quality, and the price (haha)! This is a "Special 10th Anniversary Release", so they they dropped the price dramatically. Only $37! Very nice packaging too, a nice cardstock paper gatefold sleeve case. All I can say is, this is definately a release that many of us will be listening to until something just as amazing surfaces. Southampton, Oh Sweet Southampton! Great performance (besides Plant's flu infested voice), and great sound quality. Amazing release, GET IT! (Irishfighter Aug 07)

Enjoy!

  • where could i buy a copy of this man its fantastic

  • @bedsitsongbird33 finding actual concert bootlegs can be difficult and they usually cost a whole lot. If you want an easy fix you can download these by using torrents. (fwi if you do this use "utorrent" and get your torrents at "Pirate Bay"), it is the safest most virus free way to do this

  • Whoa, this version CRANKS! Appreciate the post.

  • Thanks that's why I posted it :)

  • Thanks for the upload, "Nothing like Led Zeppelin."

  • Whole Lotta Love and Dazed and Confused make it worth buying this gem. Each song is around 27mins. Best live album they did!

  • I was at this Uni gig in Jan '73 with about 800 lucky people (still have the ticket - £1 !). I got hold of the recording last year - even better than I remembered after nearly 38 years. Plant had no sign of any cold or 'flu in his voice on the night, but after 300+ performances from 1969 you could excuse the wear on his vocal chords. The boys played a great old rock & roll section and did 3 encores - they really enjoyed themselves and Plant finished with "and a very knackered goodnight".

  • Yo, o my God, i was getting drunk! Man! Led Zeppelin forever!!!!

  • Freakin' Awesome!! Where do you guys find these versions?? Thanks for postin', Jimmy was nasty & greasy this night!!

  • @BrentZeppelin1975 I'm gonna put my 2 cents worth in. Jim drove Robert to the extreme! Jim & his kick ass in your face rock forced Plant to give it all & then some. Plant was more than willing to apease & please James. I would have been willing as well. When Robert was on his own-he was able to use what was naturally his own keys-his tone & his pitch. JIMMY DROVE ROBERT INTO ROCK N ROLL EXTREME! Drive it on drive it on! What a way to go.....wooohoooo

  • LED-ZEPPELIN is so AWESOME!
