Okay, so here's the deal.
Aerith falls in love with Zack who goes away to fight and never returns.
Then she's all heartbroken and stuff and falls in love with Cloud.
Then Zack returns, and she feels all guilty for cheating on him, therefore she is willing to sacrifice everything to "clear my concious".
I suck at explaining. T.T
