Fantastic B-side of the new album "Send away the tigers".

I feel so bad about myself
I feel so bad about everybody else
If I could only save the world from itself
Do something good, just for once

So bring on the night
Drive away the light
Bring the kiddies down and make it seem alright

So welcome to the dead zone
It's a circus full of whores
Get your body bought and sold
Blinded by the glitter and the gold

I'll be the guide and you'll be the sinner
A meeting of minds all coming together
I'll bring the book and you'll give it a title
You'll be the typist and I'll be the writer

So bring on the night
And drive away the light
Bring the kiddies down and make it seem alright

So welcome to the dead zone
It's a circus full of whores
Get your body bought and sold
Blinded by the glitter and the gold

So welcome to the dead zone
It's a circus full of whores
Get your body bought and sold
Blinded by the glitter and the gold

So welcome to the dead zone
It's a circus full of whores
Get your body bought and sold
Blinded by the glitter and the gold

  • i like u2, but bono couldn't write songs like the manics if he traded in his kidneys.

  • personally i think it sounds nothing like u2. bono's voice isn't a patch on james', and both are really distinctive.

  • @lostmyshoes80 We play in A E G D

  • @Cornitko so true! they always put better songs as b sides

  • This is just an impossibly beautiful song, lyrically as well as musically. (I would never have guessed from its name that it was so poignant - 'welcome to the dead zone' suggested dissonance and rage to me.) And I don't think it sounds like U2 or Oasis. The tune in itself may be reminiscent of those bands, but the song is not just the tune - nobody but the Manics could have come up with those words, that vocal, the bittersweet depth of the whole thing.

  • Does anyone happen to have the chords? Can't find them anywhere and I don't have the ear to figure it out.

  • This is one of the few songs where Sean Moore is the main songwriter as opposed to James. He could and should write more often; he's a brilliant songwriter if this is anything to go by.

  • Oasis sounding? What an insult. It's brilliant.

  • It's a beautiful song but i can understand why they left it off the album. It's very generic, almost Oasis sounding.

  • such a wonderful song !
