Part 62 of our Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure Playthrough picks up with Part 4 of Chapter 25: Darklight Crypt where we are ready to battle Occulous. Naturally, before doing so I had to move back and try to see if we now had access to the platform to the left with Stump Smash (Level 5)...we did not. My plan was to go thru, open the blocks, and switch to Ghost World where I figured that block to the right would be open. So we painstakingly made our way back to where we started and jumped down to take on the giant eyeball. I switched to Ghost Roaster (Level 9) and went to battle.

Naturally before battling I had to explore the setting and check for the hat...no dice. I'm not quite sure what the point of those platforms really is, but oh well, I guess they just look good aesthetically. I eventually found Gallant who told us to shoot the cannons at him in the Real World. In order to get to the Real World you have to head to the actuator (giant wand sticking up out of the ground, and shake the Wiimote). Make your way to the cannons and blast away. While moving about be on the lookout for Stump Demons.

While doing so we hit Level 10 with Ghost Roaster! All those T-bone levels really helped build him up...Continue on meandering through the Stump Demons and finding the functional cannons to shoot his eye. This battle was actually pretty easy. If I wasn't trying to get pizza from the Stump Demons it would have gone faster, lol.

Gallant is excited, but don't take him up on the pie shop just yet. For the first time I can remember, completing the final objective doesn't auto-lock you into that area or advance to a cut-scene! A new bounce pad appears, you can take it, pass through the blocks, and you'll find the ones keeping you from the rightward platform and final hat are gone! Shake the Wiimote and collect the Pumpkin Hat (+10 Armor). Now head back down and go with Gallant to get some pie!

I really don't know how we missed any enemies, but somehow we did...the Stump Demons kind of disappeared with Occulous and he seemed to be spawning them...maybe we missed one in the maze or something. Nonetheless, we got everything but the Enemy Goal and Time Goal (this is a long level!).

Here is a run down:

Chapter 25: Darklight Crypt (all the stuff I read always called this 26, but the chapter select says otherwise!)

Chapter Objectives:
-Find the Undead Customer
-Find and Defeat Occulous
-Talk to Gallant

Completion:
-Enemy Goal: No
-No Lives Lost: Check
-All Area Found: Check
-Clear in under 12:30: No

Collections:
-Soul Gems (Ghost Roaster): Check
-Legendary Treasure (Flamingo): Check
-Hats 2/2 (Chef Hat, Pumpkin Hat): Check
-Treasure Chests 3/3: Check
-Story Scrolls: 1/1 (Darklight Crypt): Check

Skylanders Used:
-Ghost Roaster (Level 9-10)
-Eruptor
-Legendary Spyro
-Stump Smash

With that in the books, we head back to The Ruins where we are dropped off at the beach near Gurglefin's ship. Eon tells us to talk to the Weapon Master. Note that as I pass by the Pirate Ship is still docked. I move around the beach collecting a little treasure. Winding down I oiled the robot and was pleasantly surprised to find that he sprung to life (kind-of) and opened a door that took us to the 8th Fairy. Hugo pressed us to get the Eternal Magic Source. I waited on the raft, went across hoping for the best, and docked only to find that the Arkeyan Weapon Master was still out cold thanks to the glitch.

I switched to Gill Grunt and shot the freakin' thing with the Anchor Canon to no avail. I moved up to check on the Darklight Crypt, grabbed a few gems along the way, and then head into the Chapter Select where I found that Darklight Crypt is in fact Chapter 25, not Chapter 26 like I had thought and read in many places across the net.

I highlighted Chapter 18 as a cautionary tale of not bombing the hole...I really don't know if you bombed it before Chapter 20 if it would do the same, but I know that bombing it between 20 and 21 result in a horrible glitch.

Knowing that it will be awhile before I'm back for Chapter 21 I ran thru the Skylander list and briefed everyone on what is out and yet to arrive (I get those questions a lot). We then ran thru the Story Scrolls, Accolades (which I don't cover in detail due to doing so awhile back), and then explore the Legendary Treasure.

And with that things are basically at a stand-still. I might try a few more things, but I'm pretty sure they'll be pointless.

I do plan to return for a Part 63 that will cover Chapter 21: The Arkeyan Armory, but it may take awhile as I have to play through the entire game again...which is something I wanted to do, but not under these circumstances.
