Kyung-Wha Chung plays the 4th movment of Igor Stravinsky's violin concerto with Lorin Maazel and Berlin Philhamonic. Recorded live in 1983, and NOT from the previous studio record from Decca.

Video itself is a patch work of short clips, documents, and pictures - an hommage to the young Ms Chung.

  • what was she playing at 2:33?

  • the second movement of Bruch concerto.

  • @twofinedays hey can you post those videos that you've mentioned??? like the Bruch, Brahms double and Mendelssohn????? btw, do you have any contacts with Kyung-wha Chung?????. You are like the TOP contributor of her videos..

  • @vlhere all thoes peformances I used as footage for this video exist only as parts of a BBC docu on Ms Chung 'East plays West'. Furthermore I do not own the video myself but only allowed to take bits for making of this video here.... and do I have contact with Ms Chung? I'd love to but better not; she'd kill me if she knew I have put all these videos of her :)

  • what is she playing in the brown shirt like thingie????

  • Brahms double concerto... rehearsing with her cellist sister and Dutoit though not shown on this video.

  • Kyung Wha Chung is great <3

I very much like this video as well :)

  • This is amazing! Such passion! Such untamed cry of emotions! Such a powerful interpretation that makes breath poor and speech unable! This is an eclectic mix of human nature.

And a great video too! I love the clips. Thank you so much for uploading this.

  • I never heard her play before. She knows how to wake Stravinsky happily!

    Brilliant. Thank you for uploading.

  • She's one of the greatest violinists, and a gorgeous lady.

  • Her interpretations are always so RAW, EXCITING, and FRESH with an inexplicable MAGNETISM, CHARM and SPONTANEITY. I'm not surprised that both Stravinsky and Walton loved her interpretations of their concertos. She is really a wonder.

  • @twofinedays Personally I don't think she'll kill you if she found out you put so many videos of her. :) thanks anyway
