While climbing Capitol Peak I met Neil Bidleman. He was a bit reluctant (and embarrassed...) but took time to explain to me how he and Chris Davenport skied down from the Summit of Capitol Peak a few years ago! Neil lives in the Roaring Fork Valley and is obviously very experienced in all things mountaineering!
As far as just climbing 14ers goes, Capitol Peak, at 4,306.5 metres (14,130 feet) is not one of the tallest 14ers but is certainly one of the most difficult with lots of 3rd and 4th class terrain over great lengths of the route...
Neal Beidleman is a well-known mountaineer and guide who was on Everest during the 1996 disaster.

That's cool. Can't remember if he was on Hall's or Fischer's team.

@JD03ish
I can't remember, either, and I'm on the road right now so can't check it out. Either way he was a very
nice guy and he helped save a lot of lives on Everest!
