MASS SUICIDE THREAT AT XBOX MANUFACTURER
Transcript: "January 12, 2012,
There are some disturbing reports coming out of China regarding a mass suicide threat made by approximately 300 desperate manufacturing employees at the Foxconn manufacturing plant in Wuhan, Central China.
Alongside Apple, Sony, Nintendo and others, Bill Gate's Microsoft corporation depends heavily on Foxconn and their employees for the production of the Xbox 360.
The employee protest and subsequent suicide threat on this occasion related to an unacceptable transfer scheme and a rescinded pay deal -- apparently it took the personal intervention of Wuhan's Mayor to talk them back from the ledge.
It has been reported previously that 14 Foxconn employees committed suicide in 2010, having frequently complained of harsh working conditions and discrimination.
We therefore have to ask, Mr Gates, is it time for you to personally step in -- where Steve Jobs never did -- and ensure the fair and proper treatment of staff directly involved in the manufacture of your products?"
"According to website China Jasmine Revolution, about 300 employees at Foxconn Technology Park in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in central China, threatened to kill themselves by jumping from the top of a building in the park.
On Jan. 2, about 300 employees at the plant belonging to Taiwan-based Foxconn — the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer — asked their employer for a raise. They were told in response to either quit their positions and receive compensation or keep their jobs and receive no additional payment. Most of the employees took the first option but the company terminated the agreement and none of them were given the money they were promised.
As the situation developed, the mayor of Wuhan came to dissuade the former employees from committing suicide. At 9:00pm on Jan. 3, the group chose life.
14 workers at Foxconn plants in other parts of China committed suicide in 2010, with employees frequently complaining of discrimination and long working hours.
Foxconn is the main contractor for Apple's iPhone and iPad in China and also makes electronic products for many other clients."

NewsFactsTrends. You may have missed this but Bill Gates no longer runs Microsoft. He stepped down years ago to pursue philanthropy. Steve Balmer is at the wheel and he is every bit as evil as Steve Jobs was.

@TheZoonib
Bill Gates is Chairman of Microsoft and maintains a massive shareholding in the company. Yet I never said anyone was evil.

Exactly why people need to take respect for themselves and stop working for less and less. Asking for the means to live as you work hard at any job is not asking for much, especially when most of the rich idiots spend millions on yachts etc. Yet won't pay you a decent wage to afford a one bedroom apartment, pay your bills and utilities. Also to just put some money aside in case you need to repair something or simply enjoy your life a bit and buy something you want. But no, that's unreasonable...
