Latest news from Eink at IFA 2011

Sriram Peruvemba, vice president of marketing at Eink, gives us the latest news from Eink, they announced that they will ship between 25 million and 30 million Eink screens this year, just for the Eink e-readers like the Kindle 4 and Nook Touch. Yup you read right, 30 million of those devices to be sold this year.

That's a lot about electronic ink that I didn't know before and I'm glad color is finally available and being produced; that's the only reason I haven't bought a Kindle yet. lol

I just wish the guy could have answered your questions directly. 4,096 colors is a lot less than an iPad; we know this. It's okay; you can admit it, too.  We wouldn't be interested in this stuff if we only wanted backlit displays.
