I think so. Nothing I have heard gives me the impression that she is anything more than a exercise in marketing.

Really? Except for being a female conservative I see no similarities between the two. Thatcher had mastered the ideas of Friedrich Hayek when she was in her early twenties at Oxford, she was one of the best articulators of the supposed moral superiority of free market economics I have ever heard. This does not come easy to say as a Labour supporter, but she consistently wiped the floor with the opposition in debates.
In contrast, all I hear from Palin is hollow rhetoric and soundbites
