From the investigating officer:

Karen Anne ROSE, 40 yrs, Ajax
ROSE solicited sale of a vehicle on KIJIJI and would meet with victims.
ROSE provided victims a reason as to why the vehicle could not be handed
over at the time of transaction. Interested buyers would provide a deposit
to ROSE to hold the vehicle. ROSE would then cut off communication with
these buyers after receiving the deposit.

ROSE was arrested on Monday October 4th and charged with five fraud related
charges.

Police believe there may be more victims in the incident.

  • BI**H TOOK MY MONEY :S.. i dont know what did she do but its been 2 years and no response yett ....

  • sad when people exploit ignorance. Ow8 this happens every day...

  • @astronumbnuts LMAO right on cowboy

  • Kiiji blows. The last two times I've bought anything off someone on their website, I've been scammed. It's mostly for ghetto people trying to make some money by ripping off others.

  • Look at her lips, she's got joint/ roach burns & discoloration. If the jewellry is real gold, she obviously uses the pawn shops to clean the dirty merchandise. She probably has a connection in MTO or the 407 ETR. I highly doubt she is a single person operation. She's got a whole web of contacts, bigger fish to fry. This one could be a jackpot if you catch her.

  • This suspect is a front end for someone else. She looks too stupid and like a crack addict to think of this scam on her own. She's got a scam pimp cracking the whip behind her tellingwhat to do. During the day she sells cars, at night what do you think she does ?

  • Good work Detective. I would highly suggest TPS to setup a sting task force much like other units to target possible suspects using the channel of auto sales to exploit funds from non suspecting individuals. They should act like a buyer and much like catching a sex trade worker, they will attract a curb sider. Sandman could provide the A/V for surveillance, use marked bills, and get some choppers involved. Throw a beacon in the envelope, track them and catch them.

  • kijiji auto classifieds are full of curb-siders.. If you don't know what a curb-sider is look it up. Why am I not surprised people are getting ripped off on that site. People should be careful..more than half of the cars on that site are sold privately, by DEALERS. Pure scams going on..
