Wow, it is very exciting to see a very unusual player Francesca Schiavone! She is 1 of the only 3 women in the top 50 to use a one-handed backhand. She is an all-court player. She is not a pretty blond. She is short -- 5’ 5.5”. She is old -- 30 years old. She is the first Italian woman to win the French Open singles title or any Grand Slam singles title. Schiavone is a joy to watch on the courts. She may not possess beauty, poise nor elegance, her movements maybe awkward, her screams so unladylike, yet I find her so entertaining. The sounds she creates, "yahee, aaahhh, yaaaah" are so funny, couldn't stop laughing when she plays. I love this woman so much! Schiavone is second to my top favorite. Of course, my no. 1 is Maria Sharapova!
