This is a riding narrative describing my 2004 Harley Fatboy that includes products by Corbin, Python, Hogpro, Carlini, Arlen Ness, and a small fortune in way too much chrome.

  • @thebossman1512... I would be lying if I didn't admit that there is some truth to that, but we love our Harley's despite the anemic horsepower to weight ratio. ;-)

  • Is this guy Clint Eastwood's brother or something ha, ha. "Do ya feel lucky punk? Well, do ya? Go ahead. Build my bike." Fantastic bike! I'm not a fan of the high bars though. I suppose it's an acquired taste.

  • @Praetorian1776 To be honest, I was never a fan of ape hangers (high bars) until several years ago when I rented a Road King that had 14" ape hangers. I rode it for two days and was instantly hooked. It's actually a really comfortable riding position. Plus... you get an unrestricted, panoramic view from your mirrors. With regular bars your body blocks a good portion of your view. I also don't need to lower my head to scan the mirrors as with standard bars. You should give them a try.

  • I like both the Fly'in and Gangster Apes. I work right down the street from the Carlini Factory store and they gave me a killer cash deal on the Fly'in Apes, which is why I ended up with those instead of the Gangster model. You can't go wrong either way. Keep in mind that Carlini apes run taller than advertised. 14's measure just short of 16" tall. The same is true for their 16" and 18" models. They all run about 1.5" higher than advertised.

  • @MrRedtide001 Same here. I was not a fan of apes until I rode on a bike all day one day with a set on it. Now, my Sportster has 16" apes and I can't see riding without them.

    Awesome FB!

  • May I ask you how tall you are? I'm thinking on getting exactly the same bars for my Fat. I'm 5'7 and I'm not sure if they will be too high for me.

    Nice bike !
