Primates never should have evolved. It should have been the dolphin's ancestors. I like cats more, but they're murderous little fuckers so they wouldn't have done much better than us, I believe. But ANY other species would have done better than this.

I don't care if you believe in god or not, what I do care about us the fact the people on both sides are on war footing over it. Fighting words, dehumanization or demonization. And after decades of that, many such adherents are fanatic and can justify any atrocity to realize their supposed "utopia."

He didn't trot in on any high horses looking down on the uneducated. Thou an atheist, he recognized the psychology behind the vast majority of the world being religious. He saw the good intentions as well as the bad results.

Ever watch Cosmos without checking your stupid cellphone 150 times a millisecond like most fucking dumbasses these days? Or better yet, you ever read the book? Had you done so you'd know Sagan isn't like Dawkins, who feels the need to belittle others. He even recognized that a mule farmer discovered the red shift, not Dr Douchebag from Oxford. He wasn't as interested in belittling religious people, ideological opponents and rival colleagues than leading humanity down a path of enlightenment.

Who are the insufferable fucking simpletons who thumbed this ridiculous bullshit up? Sagan wasn't an English major, but jesus fucking Christ...he'd know to use the word "uneducated" instead of the infinitely retarded; "the not as educated."

And Sagan also wasn't a smug asshole who was too full of his own shit. He understood that a huge portion of some of our most revered scientific discoveries and technological achievements, even if they're dated, were the results of the "uneducated."
