Troy Davis 2011 — No Man is an Island

There doesn't seem to be a lot more time left, for Troy Davis, because On March 28, 2011 the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear any further appeals leaving the way clear for an execution date to be set.

Let me get this straight, Anthony. You want us to sign this petition for someone convicted of murder, someone you don't even know, as you admitted in your video, if he's innocent or not? If he's guilty then he should hang by the neck until he's dead, commonsense and common justice for the victim dictates that this fact is not even up for debate. I'd hate to sign a petition that helps a murderer walk free, the "Criminal Justice System" is aptly named, there's never any justice for the victims.

"Beyond all Reasonable Doubt" is a crucial part of any legal system, especially when a man's life is at stake. There is definitely something very wrong in the case of Troy Davis, the doubt is clearly there, but he still finds himself facing the death penalty. Unfortunately, the doubt also exists as to his innocence and that is the reason I won't sign the petition. If he is indeed innocent then every second of every day must be a living nightmare for him, I hope justice is done.

Reasonable Doubt should only apply to whether a person is guilty or not. Reasonable Doubt as to a person's innocence doesn't make sense, because a person must be considered innocent until proved guilty. If proof og guilt is not established Beyond a Reasonable Doubt then they must be considered innocent or should be granted a new trial in the interests of seeing that justice is done. Please sign the petition.
