This is just a quick video to bring everyone up to speed on my new garden. I haven't posted anything for a while because I moved from Missouri to California last August. I had to donate my old garden to the new owners in Missouri and virtually started over again.

I am just showing the layout of the garden as it is today. I am going to start putting in my upside down garden in this weekend. I haven't done it yet because it has been getting pretty cool at night. I think we are out of danger for frost now so I should have my upside down garden in the next video.

Thank you to everyone that has subscribed over the last year and I am sorry it has been so long between posts but I am back to it again. I will try to upload a new video every week or so. Stay tuned.... It's gonna be a great growing season!! Northern California weather is a gardeners dream.

Stay Tuned.

Kelly

  • Nice raised bed. How was it constructed?

  • @BalconyGrow There are 3 rows of grey Pavestones in the front and then it is back filled with a combination of Napa Valley top soil and organic matter, compost and earth worm castings. The back fence is built on top of regular center blocks (because they are cheaper) to match the height of the front Paverstones. That way the fence won't deteriorate because it doesn't come in contact with the soil. I hope that helps. Kelly

  • Napa valley is so fertile you could grow food in your hair. lol Fantastic looking yard.

  • @QuickGardens Yeah, it's pretty fertile especially for grapes.... The best part is that it gets pretty warm during the day and cool at night... even in the dead of summer. I'm hoping my garden likes that. I'll keep you posted. Kelly

  • hey kelly, I'm so glad to see your back and ready for the new growing season, everything looks great in your new garden, i'm looking forward to watching your updates to come. I wish you luck on your harvest and i'll keep looking for the updates, take care wally

  • @wmkk808 Thanks! Yeah, I've started over but I am hard at it. I will have a few upside down vegetables in soon. I like to compare the yield from all the different methods that I use. I will keep you posted. Thanks for the good wishes! I hope your garden goes great this year too. Keep me posted! Take care. Kelly

  • nice. cant wait to see your garden in a few years time no doubt it will take up the whole back yard.

  • what happened to your old strawberrys?

  • @14dollarz Hey Jason. It's great to be back.... It's been a little hectic getting things going again after the move but I am enjoying the extended growing season here. You have really gone to the next level I see... It is addicting. I had most of my seeds going in late January and through February. I built a hoop (green) house over my beds so I could get things out early and extend the season even further. Your set up is great and I'm checking in regularly. Keep up the good work!!

  • Awesome! Great to have you back. Your setup looks really good and you should have a lot of veggies this summer. Keep the updates coming and please don't move again :).
