They are American Akita, not Japanese. Japanese Akita only come in three colours, red/white, pure white and brindle. Never pinto, and never with a black mask.

If you do a DNA test, it shows they are all the same. Just minor differance from cross breeding. the closest thing to true breed was almost hunted to exstintion in the late 1930"s? Which is the wolf class in Japan.
If you love your Akita just the way it is. then that's all that counts. Enjoy them while you have one. Mine died new years day at 11 years old.
