Mr Strauss is technically supposed to be American if you're trying to be historically accurate though; his parents did move there from Germany when he was 9 years old.

Im doing this musical atm with my local opera company and all you people complaining about accents do you actually realise how hard it is to sing in an accent?!! give them a chance i thought this was rather good
