http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/2009/10/29/inslee-condemns-superfreaks/ 10/29/09: Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA) assailed the authors of SuperFreakonomics for participating in the effort to deceive the American public on the science of global warming, in particular for their "absolute deception" in their portrayal of the views of climate scientist Ken Caldeira. He criticized the book during a hearing of the House Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming investigating forged letters sent on behalf of the coal industry opposing climate legislation.

  • What debate? When has a global warmist debated anyone? Case in point, he wants to stop books from being written.

  • So this congressman didn't even read the book. Superfreakonomics specifically references Caldeira's opinion on page 184: "Caldeira is thoroughly convinced human activity is responsible for some global warming" and "we are being incredibly foolish emitting carbon dioxide" as we currently do. It THEN references Caldeira's objectivity in his research, in his determining that CO2 is "not the right villain in this fight." This is what you get when you keep electing Democrats, folks--pure agenda.

  • REEEEEEEEEEEEE-TARD!

  • @raleighl

Go read the studies/data yourself. It's much harder to justify man made global warming theories.

There are MANY scientists that disagree with the idea of global warming. Many of the IPCC scientists tried to sue the IPCC for putting their names on conclusions that weren't necessarily reflected by the data collected.

  • It's too bad this guy didn't read the book Superfreakonomics, because they didn't say that we should put aside attempts to contrl CO2 emissions. They simply stated the facts that given the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and the fact that it is an extremely stable molecule (this guy should take an organic chem class), that alternatives may be needed. Of course, I guess that reality doesn't make as good of a talking point.

  • Go Jay! Keep up the good work Congressman Inslee. I will continue to vote for you. -Alex

  • Wow, when ignorant people are given a title of Congressman, they quickly seek to over step their limited authority and force their opinion on people.

CO2 only benefits the earth. Why do you think dionos were so large...lots of plant life...lots of CO2...

Ocean is 8.2 ph, which mean it is alkaline. If you add acid...it is a good thing, not bad. Pure water is ph 7. Wake up people. The GW theory is false, co2 is a good thing, and is NOT a pollutant.

  • One star.

  • What state? And how do you know it will be worse in 30 years. Are those your scientific facts telling you. You can predict the future, wow!

  • Global warming is a lie perpetrated by the jew run media in an attempt to distract the world from real issues such as the murder of innocent Palestinian children by evil Israelis.
