Hello on this Monday, August 20, 2007. I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update.
Kevin Federline's attorneys have delivered another subpoena in his custody battle with Britney Spears. Federline's legal team reportedly sent the papers to the Promises rehab facility where the pop star received treatment. It's the fourth subpoena he's given out in the past week. Spears' assistant, friend, and bodyguard have also received the papers. They may all be called to the stand to discuss the singer's parenting skills. Federline is seeking primary physical custody of their sons.
The new comedy "Superbad" is doing great things for U.S. box offices. The film about 2 high school friends grabbed the number one spot over the weekend, bringing in more than 31 million dollars in ticket sales. That pushed "Rush Hour 2" to the second spot. "The Bourne Ultimatum" took number 3.
"American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks has scored herself a record deal. She's signed on with 19 Recordings/Jive Records group. Her new single "Tattoo" will reportedly be released on August 27 followed by her debut album in November. She's the first "Idol" contestant to be signed on that label.
Thousands of fans gathered in London for "The V Festival" over the weekend. Several big artists showed up for the music festival. British singer Lily Allen performed as well as Corinne Bailey Ray. KT Tunstall was also a big hit at the concert. The Babyshambles took the stage as well as pop star Pink.
Several members of the hip hop music community are backing Barack Obama. Vibe magazine has even reportedly named the democratic presidential hopeful "B-Rock." Obama's name has popped up in several rap songs including those of rapper Common and Talib Kweli. Common tells CNN he supports Obama because he represents progress...as does hip hop music.
That's all for now. Thanks for watching today's entertainment update.
