This video, produced for my Systems Approach to Organizational Training class at Elizabethtown College is designed to teach senior citizens, specifically residents of the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA, the bare minimums required to record a video using the Panasonic DVX-100B video camera. Topics include locating the battery and tape, white balancing, setting up a tripod, and reviewing the footage using the "VCR" mode on the camera. This video was written, produced and directed by Stephen Juliano. Narration by Carey Betts

  • I just got one of these today and you saved me some time poring over a manual for the basics. Thanks! BTW, that's a nice camera case/bag. Who makes it?

  • @yemsols You use a Firewire cable. And also you need to have the proper software such as Premiere Pro or Final Cut to capture your videos.

  • @ThaaatsEnough Both are just fine as long as they are MiniDV.

  • @spider1g5 No, its a 32 mm.

  • @SUPERHEROLUVR The first thing you need to know is that this camera does not shot HD video. If you are not a profesional video producer DO NOT buy this. It is a great camcorder but if you are going to use it for family reunions or just for fun it is too expensive and complicated for you.

  • If you need to watch this video, you should not be spending this much on a camcorder.

  • Do you have to put in a tape?what if i make a video and wanna post it on youtube, would i be able to do that?im getting this camera and also does it film in HD? SOMEONE PLEAASSE ANSWER!I WANNA KNOW BEFORE I BUY IT!!!

  • @matthewm04 damn i have the same camera if anyone interested im selling it ASAP

  • @ThaaatsEnough use any dv tapes....but some experts stress using the same brand tapes consistently....use good quality thicker dv tapes ( sony masters are good) since the cheaper brand tape will deteriorate over time and you wont be able to sync time code in final cut because of metal particles and dust create artifacts... i am talking about tapes that 5+ years old

  • @crichhawk Fair enough. It has been hard to find videos on the DVX that really explain the camera in detail.
