A poem "Takasago" is a traditional blessing for just married couple. A noble of ancient Kioto visited nice seashore named Taka(high)-sago(sand) on Osaka bay met a gentleman and a lady cleaning shore with their forks. The noble asked why they were doing so. A gentleman replied with his poem song. The couple was spirits of pine trees, he was in north of bay and she was in south of bay. They had been met everyday at Takasago shore. Now they decided to live together, set sail from there to new home. The noble was impressed very much, so he recorded the poem in his note, which now we can sing in Noh thatre form . "Takasago ya, kono ura, fune ni, ho wo age te ..... " (Takasago, from here lets set sail ..... ) 高砂やこの浦舟に帆を揚げて .....
