Avonlea.tv pays tribute to Jackie Burroughs who starred as matriarch Hetty King on the series Road to Avonlea. While other characters from the show were drawn from the works of Lucy Maud Montgomery, Hetty King was original, and Jackie's portrayal of the perfectly flawed school teacher garnered three Gemini awards during the series' seven year run.
Burroughs passed away on September 22, 2010.

you know i am just 16 years old and there is a woman chanel called vitaya here in my home country belgium and it play episodes of Road to Avonlea , at first i didn't like it but now watched a few episodes i am starting to lik and my favorita in the series is hetty(jackie burroughs) and i just found out she died...

Road to Avonlea was one of my favourite serials. But Aunt Hetty was something else.......
I just did adore Jackie in her role. The character ,Hetty King was just made & cut for her. I don't think any one else could have played it so perfectly.
I have videos of this serial & watch them. I never get tired to see the episodes again & again.
I was really heartbroken to know that Jackie Burroughs wasn't there any more.
Rest in peace dear lady, you'll always be in my heart.........
