Hello Dave. I hope you're fine. My name is Alain, I am a man and I live in Switzerland. I chose ForEverGilda out of love for the American movies and especially Rita Hayworth. I'd be glad to hear from you.

foreverGilda, Where are you Gilda? Been a while. Dave

Unfortunately, I was too young to remember what was going on in my life back in '61. I was only four years old then.

One of the great groups of the early sixties who didnt get enough respect--love the smooth flowing vocals and perfect instrumental background-- loved growing up listening to this song

@ForEverGilda Same here Gilda. Somehow I feel better now when I hear that song, thanks to you. Dave
-
It's a pleasure for me, Dave. I would have been glad to make your acquaintance if I were in the USA.

@ForEverGilda Thank you for your sweet reply. Made it through it, as we all do. Just remember it being really tough for awhile. Beautiful country Switzerland. Thanks again. Dave

BARNEY2825 HAPPENED TO ME TO
I last heard this song on the radio back in 1975, Glaette: you're right about one thing: most songs from the 60's were about pure and true love and innocence. Not this Maury/Jerry Springer-type love (ex: Oh I'm pregnant with his baby; Who's my baby's daddy, I need a lie detector test to prove that he/she is not cheating, and so forth.)

Joined the Army in 1961 and was shipped off to Germany for three years. Left my girl behind and and in early 1962 received the infamous DEAR JOHN LETTER from her. Then this song hit USAREUR air waves and I tell ya, Ive never been so lonely in my life. Took a long time to get over it.
