Actually, I was one of the people arrested, and I am an applied maths major. The truth is the coal companies don't know an honest days work. They flog a caustic commodity and at every stage in the policy process they do everything to avoid the social costs of their industry, I call that theft.

What about vandalising the atmosphere, the atmosphere is property, a recent legal precedent in england upheld the reasonable excuse defense because the activity they stopped was seen as causing 'damage to property'. The legal issue isn't as simple as your telegraph legal interpretation.
