Jimmy Ray Hunter and the Del Rays - The Girl That Radiates That Charm
(Fame 602, 1960?)

Arthur Alexander (a.k.a. June Alexander) recorded his own version of "The Girl That Radiates That Charm" (issued on Judd 1020) in 1960 but could this limited edition Fame release (with instrumental-flip "Hot Toddy") be even older than that?

The Del Rays was formed in Alabama University in 1959 by Jimmy Ray Hunter (vcl), Jimmy Johnson (gtr), Bill Scott (keys), Bill Cofield (sax), Larry York (bs) and John Daniels (dms). Also two more future Muscle Shoals employees, Roger Hawkins and Norbert Puttnam worked occasionally with the group. Other Del Rays recordings (of the 60's) known to exist came out on (Rick Hall's) R&H, CB and Atco labels between 1962-65.
