I am greek and I can surely say that here in Greece we dance sirtaki,we love traditional music...this stereotype as you say is our life, our history and our traditions!
we haven't changed that much as you think.
Some cultures forgot their roots, others not...
we have not.

" Teach me to dance, will you? Dance? Did you say "dance"..? :D
-
@shitbomp I am not entirely convinced this is true. But I also cant believe greeks is possible to work that much, even more than germans.Statistics arent always true.
-
@kittykatro what about germans then? they own the european bank at least 14 trillion! what about spain, ireland, portugal, usa and now italy? are they lazy too? we care, and we care a lot, we work at least 10 hours a day for a 700 euros salary! Stop being influenced by the propaganda and try toread between the lines

@kittykatro Even bankrupt our lives are better than yours, fucking romanian gypsy
-
@kittykatro according world statistics greeks work more hours than any other european country
about 1000 hours per year more than germans ( who said we are lazy )
-
This is why Greece is bankrupt now! The greeks instead of working, they just dance and don't care about anything - just like Zorba!
Well, there are stereotypes for every nation, except perhaps for the one that uses most of them in their movies :-)
This one isn't that bad. Actually, I used this video to blog about the life changing learning experience a young and highly educated uptight person can have with an older one, peasant, and from another culture as it is. Both the book and the movie do pass that message, even though Greece is pictured in a specific time and place.
