New Aero-works EXTRA 300 with the also new DLE 20cc gas engine. Started with a Zinger 16x6 prop. An XOAR 17x6 coming in the mail today. She was a slight bit nose heavy... making some battery moves etc.

Slight gurgle from the motor at low to mid RPM. Not worried, might be slight needle adjustment. Needs more break-in time.

No fancy flying here... so don't expect anything great. I was a little nervous, and the weather not optimum. Hopefully make some tweaks and get her dialed in real nice.....

  • How muffler do you use?? Slimline, bisson??

  • @albychainsaw80 - jtecrc.com/dlengineswraparound.htm

  • Do you think it has the power to hover? What oil are you using as mix?

    Lookin Good !!!!

  • @NumberTenGi - My 3D skills are not all there yet... but I think she will hover just fine. It seems to have unlimited vertical power.

Im using Evolution oil. 30:1 mix. Let me know how it goes with yours.

  • @bells33 .. Your skills look just fine. Good flying.

I imagine when I get mine ready I will not be ripping it either. Love this video, because it is the exact setup that I have purchased. Got the plane Friday. Engine is on back-order until mid Nov. :o(

What made you decide to get a 17x6? The 16x6 (Master Prop K-series)is the exact prop pitch I was going to start with. It's still sealed up in bag. Let me know.

You can be my test pilot. What's the fee?

  • @NumberTenGi - I went to an XOAR 17x6 which was really really powerful. I switched back to the Zinger 16x6 to complete the break-in..... haha... no fees!!

Right now I have an Evolution 16x6... (broke the Zinger). Same power (a lot).

    Plane rips through the sky!

  • hopw much weight did you have to add up front?

  • very nice flight!!! One day I'll get one and put A YS70 in it - I just can't stand 2 stroke gas engines or 2 stroke glow... Hovering.. just buy a helicopter, that's my motto. Anyhow, great looking maiden flight.. But before anyone starts to badger me about my idea on gas engines - do the math: 480grams and only one battery vs 2000 grams and a separate battery to boot - power to weight plus a better sound, my vote goes to YS 4 strokes.

  • Great vid. Jtech does make awesome mufflers. Takes a couple weeks tho because they are made to order. But excellent build quality. Well worth the time and $.

  • I have the exact plane with a Saito 82 in it. Just curious what your all up weight is. (without fuel) Also... How many ounce fuel tank?

  • nice flying great sounding motor dude DLE 20 perfect power house for that model you have I have a weedeater conversion on my 120 check it out on my channel instant throttle response

  • Nice Video. It was because of your 1st video that I picked up a DLE 20 for my Funtana 90. My 1st flight was in the rain too! I couldn't wait. I'm already looking for a new plane to put it in. Extra or a Yak 54?....it's a toss up.

FYI the DLE 20cc has enough power to hover a 10lbs plane with just a little extra in reserve. But then again, my DLE might not be fully broken in. Maybe more power to come...

  • were did you get your Pitts muffler for it?
