When standing at the Deli counter, do you wonder what makes a good pastrami sandwich kosher? Our film offers a tell all, behind the scenes look at the Biblically based kosher meat manufacturing process. The film focuses on the immigrant Oscherwitz family, manufacturers of Kosher deli products since the 1880's.
Divine Food has been broadcast on 18 PBS affiliate stations and has appeared with great success in many film festivals across the country. In addition it is used in many Jewish schools to describe the Kosher manufacturing process, as an inspirational story of a successful immigrant family and with a deli lunch community gatherings of all kinds.
I'm a life long new Yorker, and I LOVE a good kosher deli. Unfortunately most of the Glatt kosher deli's don't measure up (except for Bernstein on Essex which closed down years ago). These are the REAL deal: Adelman's on Kings Highway and Mill Basin deli on Avenue T in Brooklyn, The Second Avenue deli on East 33rd St in Manhattan, Ben's Best on Queens Blvd., The Woodrow in Hewlett (5 Towns), and Ben's Deli with several locations in Long Island, Queens, and Manhattan. Any Others ??
