@AaranAardvark Well, those 2 poems are examples of Adrian Mitchell being deeply humanistic but also sharp and satirical. The poem on this page seems lacking in sharpness and satire... and so comes across a bit like the leftwing equivalent of a Sunday school sermon, IMHO.

Dear old Adrian Mitchell,,, he had his heart in the right place. But to be honest I find this poem a bit predictable and ponderous. As with all my favourite rock bands, I think that Adrian's best works were his early works. They are sharper, wittier, still warm and humanistic but with more zest and imagination.
